Bridgette was a broadcast journalist with Channel NewsAsia for 4 years. She became involved in adventure travel and youth work in 1998 after a 3-month expedition in Chile organized by Raleigh International (UK).

Since then she has volunteered with Raleigh Singapore to organize 2 school building projects in Myanmar (Operation Mingalaba) and in Tibet (Operation Tashi Deleg). She loves working with youth and trains facilitators in youth development during her spare time. Although she enjoyed her job, she quit the corporate world to focus on adventure and volunteer work in mid-2004. Under X-Trekkers, she led a group of teens to Cambodia on a tailored programme for the Singapore History Museum. Then from September to November 2004, she introduced 30 adults to community work and adventure travel in Yunnan, China.
