Pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering in NUS, Yen Kai has much other pursuits in life. After being certified as an advanced open water diver, he turned towards mountaineering for a different type of challenge. His passion for mountaineering has pushed him to climb higher and higher. An experienced high altitude mountaineer, he had scaled several mountains in Himalayan, the Karakoram and Sichuan region. In June 2005, he reached the summit of Mount Everest.
