Considered one of the world’s most ancient areas of human habitat, double-landlocked Uzbekistan is home to Marco Polo’s ancient caravan routes, those blue-eyed/fair- haired descendants of the Macedonian armies of Alexander the Great, the religious teacher Zoroaster, the fabled Khorezm dynasty, the fearsome Tamerlane, Persian and Islamic cultures and numerous unique UNESCO cultural heritage sites, as well as countless remnants of Mongolian conquests and Russian occupation.
Generally agreed by scientists as being part of the semi-legendary Aryana inhabited by Aryans in the middle of the second millennium B.C., Tajikistan is essentially a land of high mountains, azure lakes and powerful glaciers bordered by the world’s highest mountain systems, from the Pamirs in the east, to the Karakorum and Himalayas in the south, the Hindukush in the west and the Tien Shan in the north-east.
This is both a journey steeped in history and rich in culture covering Tashkent, Samarkhand, Shakhrisabz and Bukhara in Uzbekistan, as well as an adventure into the remote landscape of the Fan Mountains affording a brief glimpse into the lifestyles of its Tajik nomads.

+++++  A WALK IN THE CITY PARKS +++++

JOIN US for a walk from HarbourFront MRT to Clementi MRT, covering the newly opened Southern Ridges trail that connects Mt Faber, Telok Blangah Park, Hort Park and Kent Ridge Park. We will also visit West Coast Park and Clementi Woods along the way as well.

Note:
There will be 2 rest point for the walk, one at KR Park around 12+, and one at West Coast Park McDonald around 2+. You can either pack some snack for light lunch at KR Park or buy lunch at McDonald.
