1) X-Trekkers is proud to present once again - Operation Shangri-la 2008.

We have been a part of the Community Service incorporating elements of Adventure Travel since 2002. The expedition is carried out to provide further enrichment to a traveller's experience with an aim to provide an opportunity for participants to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate and at the same time, have fun visiting and learning new
culture with local friends; to minimize environmental damage and ensure protection of the places we're travelling to; to encourage sustainable tourism and balance the benefits among the individual traveller, the local communities and the natural attractions.

Departure Date: 22nd November to 3rd December 2008

Cost/ Person:
S$1090 (12 Days)
S$960 (10 Days)

* Inclusions:
. Materials for community service

2) 1st Walking Clinic

Our first Walking Clinic will be held on Saturday, 27 September. This
is the first time when our "Let's Take A Walk" participants will meet
other participants and the organizers behind this event.

Venue: Kampong Kembangan Community Club
Date: 27th September, 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 3pm-6pm

Through this session, we hope to give the participants a better understanding of "Let's Take A Walk" and let the participants meet and know each other. This clinic is conducted by professionals and is designed specially for you & your team to prepare well for the walk.

Some highlights of this session include:

1) Sharing of walking experience by participants of "Let's Take A Walk-3"
2) Tips on how to prepare oneself for a long walk
3) Common walking injuries and how to prevent them
4) Training dates and details

You are strongly encouraged to attend with your team & friends.

There will be a Q & A session to have your queries answered.

3) To our fellow adventurers, please note that the Visa requirements for China have undergone a few changes appended below:

China Visa Notice:

From 19 September 2008, the visa waiver practice will be resumed for Singaporean ordinary passport holders who are travelling to China for business, tourism or visiting relatives for 15 days or less.

Notice:
According to relevant Chinese laws and with reference to the visa practice by previous Olympics host countries, from 1 July, 2008, China Embassy will temporarily suspend the visa waiver programme for Singaporean ordinary passport holders who plan to travel to China for 15 days or less, which was introduced unilaterally by the Chinese side since 1 July, 2003. We will resume the visa waiver programme at an appropriate date after the Beijing Olympics.

During this period, the Chinese Embassy will issue visas for the Singaporean Citizens who will travel to China.
