11 Days BHUTAN Druk Path Trek

This is a six-day trek, which leads from Paro to Thimphu or vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains that separate the two valleys. Although the route is sparsely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fish and the area is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests, which bloom in May. In the clear weather of late autumn and winter, there are great views of the Himalayas.

Day 1 Arrive Paro. O/N hotel
Meet representative and transferred to hotel in Paro.
Free & easy to acclimatize.
Day 2 Paro. O/N hotel
Driving to Drukgyel Dzong, you can catch a splendid view of Mt Chomolhari on a clear day. Visit one of the typical village houses & Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest & most sacred shrines. In the afternoon visit Ta dzong and walk down trail to visit Rimpong Dzong.
Day 3 Jele Dzong. O/N camp. Altitude 3480m
(8Km, 4-5 hours. 1090m ascent)
Day 4 Jangchulakha. O/N camp. Altitude 3770m
(10 Km, 3 - 4hours. 310m ascent, 50m descent)
Day 5 Jimilangtsho. O/N camp. Altitude 3870m
11Km, 4 hours. 230m descent, 330m ascent
Day 6 Simkota. O/N camp.
11 Km, 4 hours. 820m ascent, 400m descent
Day 7 Phajoding. O/N camp. Altitude 3610m
10 Km, 4 hours. 130m ascent, 680m descent
Day 8 Thimphu. O/N Hotel
5Km, 3 hours.
Day 9 Thimphu. O/N hotel.
Full day excursion to Punakha/Wangduephodrang valleys. In Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong situated at the junction of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Next, head to Wangduephodrang, visit 17th century Dzong and the local market
Day 10 Thimphu-Paro. O/N hotel.
Full day sightseeing in Thimphu and in the evening drive back to Paro.
Day 11 Depart Paro.
After early breakfast in the hotel, drive to airport for flight to onward destination.
