Geographical location. Tien-Shan – is one of the six mountain ranges of Asia, mountain system in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China), 2500 km long. It is land of rocky canyons, endless ranges armoured by eternal snows, giant peaks, huge glaciers and very cold mountain lakes reflecting in their crystal water a blue sky and mountain forests. Our trekkings cover the territories of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan only. The highest points are Mt. Pobeda (7439 m) and Mt. Khan-Tengri (7010 m).
As a whole, climate is continental. The average temperature of July in Low valleys is 20-25 °C; in Middle-height valleys 15-17 °C; at the foot of the glaciers 5 °C and lower. The average temperature of January everywhere except High-altitude regions is – 6 °C and lower.
Climate in the region of Central Tien-Shan. Climate of Central Tien-Shan mountains is sharply continental.

Temperature. The coldest month is January, the hottest is July. Average temperature of July is +3C, but it may reach +17C on a sunny day. At height of more than 3750 m average July temperature reaches +6C even in the shady parts.

Precipitation. Precipitation in July and August reach 900 mm. Average date when firm snow cover is formed is October 30. Average date when snow start thawing is April 2.

Wind. Winds in the mountains are not strong. Change of wind directions takes place between 8.00 and 10.00 o’clock in the morning when wind blows from the valleys to the mountains, and between 8.00 and 10.00 o’clock in the evening when it blows down from the mountains. Normally the winds blow at 1,8/2,3 m/sec. Strong winds are very rare, but may happen in May or November.

Avalanches. March and April is the time when most avalanches go down.

1	Arrival in Almaty. Meeting in airport. Transfer to the hotel “Kazjol”, accommodation. Rest. Breakfast. City sightseeing: visit to the 28 Panfilov’s guardsmen park, Cathedral, Museum of national musical instruments, National museum, Medeo gorge, Republic square (4 hrs.). Lunch at “Kazakh Aul” restaurant. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
2	Breakfast. Transfer: Almaty – Kegen village – Caryzhaz village – Tekes river (340 km, 5 hours). On the way – lunch. Base camp at Tekes river. Preparation for trekking. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
3	Breakfast. Hiking: Tekes river - Shubartal place (8 km, 5 hours) (H-2670). Lunch – on the way. The way lies along wide Tekes gorge. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
4	Breakfast. Hiking: Shubartal place – Karakol small lake (9 km, 6 hours) (H-3231). Lunch – on the way. Walking at lake environs. Back to camp at Karakol small lake. Dinner. Overnight in the tents.
5	Breakfast. . Hiking: Karakol small lake – Kubergenty Pass (H-3570) – Dzhaak river (10 km, 6 hours) (H-3440). Ascent to Kubergenty, descent to narrow valley of Kubergenty river (this river flows into Kokzhar river) and then along Kokzhar river (ascent). Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
6	Breakfast. Hiking: Dzhaak river – Dzhaak Pass (H-3529) – Tuyukashu river (8 km, 5 hours) (H-2870). Ascent to Dzhaak Pass and descent to valley of Ulken-Kokpak river. Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
7	Breakfast. Hiking: Tuyukashu river – head Igliksa river (7 km, 5 hours) (H-2930). The way lies along valley of Ulken-Kokpak river to right confluent of Igliksa river. Then the way lies along Igliks river to Karakolsky Pass. Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
8	Breakfast. Hiking: Igliksa river – Karakolsky Pass (H-3452) – Karakol lake (6 km, 4 hours). Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
9	Breakfast. Free day. At request – radial walking to Akkol-Dekol lake (3 km up to from Karakol lake). Lunch. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
10	Breakfast. Hiking: Karakol lake – Akkol lake (6 km, 5 hours) (H-3069). Lunch on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents. Breakfast. Hiking: Karakol lake – Akkol lake (6 km, 5 hours) (H-3069). Lunch on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
11	Breakfast. Hiking: Akkol lake – North Ashutor Pass (H-3760) – left confluent of Ashutor river (8 km, 6 hours) (H-3200). Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
12	Hiking Ashutor river – Bayankol river (6 km, 4 hours) (H-2500). Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
13	Breakfast. Hiking: Bayankol river – Bayankol frontier post (9 km, 5 hours) (H- 2300). Lunch – on the way. Dinner. Overnight in tents.
14	Breakfast. Transfer: Bayankol gorge – Almaty (400 km, 6 hours). On the way – excursion to Charyn Canyon and lunch. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
15	Transfer to airport. Departure from Almaty
