10 Days Heaven's Lake + Hanas Lake Trek - Xinjiang, CHINA

Situated in the Heavenly Mountain range (Tianshan), 115 km northeast of Urumqi, Heaven's Lake (Tianchi) is arguably one of the nicest spots in all of China. The huge clear water lake, the pine trees covering the hillsides and the snow capped mountains in the background make this a spectacular sight- reminiscent of Switzerland or the Rocky mountains but somehow with more vibrancy and color.
1374m high above sea level, Kanasi Lake (Hanasa Lake), which means "beautiful, rich and mysterious" in Mongolian, can be found in the deep forests and mountains of Altai, covering an area of 44.78 square kilometers which is 10 times bigger than Tianchi on Bogda Mountain. This is a typical ice erosion & moraine lake shaped like a new moon,or rather, a long hyacinth bean. The reflections of the surrounding snowcapped, tree covered mountains can be seen inverted on the lake water. During autumn especially, there is a picturesque landscape of forests in a riot of colors with gold, red, blue and green all reflected in the clear lake water here.

Day 1 SIN – Urumqi O/N Hotel
Day 2 Urumuqi – Heavenly Lake (1980m). Hike up the lake
Or take cable cars if don’t want to trek the 5lm. Lunch at a local Kazak yurt, PM hike along the lake or Xiwangmu temple. O/N Yurt
Day 3 TREK: Upper side of mountain. O/N Yurt
Day 4 Drive to Turpan. O/N Grand Hotel (std room)
Drive to Tuyuq valley, Gaochang ruins and Bezaklik Buddha caves, Emin minaret etc.
Day 5 AM visit at Turpan: Visit to Jiaohe ruins, underground
irrigation system of Turpan KAREZ wells Drive to Karamay (600kms) as early as possible after the tour at Turpan. O/N at Karamay.
Day 6 Drive to Buljin (320kms) then further drive to Hanas
lake (170kms). O/N at lake side hotel
Day 7 Hiking up to Guanyuting, enjoy the beauty of Hanas

Day 8 Early start from the lake to Kuitun (620km). O/N hotel
Day 9 Drive to Urumqi. O/N hotel
Day 10 Departure
