12 Days Silk Road Adventure, CHINA

The Silk Road consists of a vast network of crisscrossed trade routes from Europe to China. Since the first millennium B.C., these historic routes served as a link between the east and west, connecting several continents and allowing an exchange of information, technology and material goods. Silk is not the only commodity traveling through these routes, although it may be the most remarkable for people of the West, especially the Romans. Changan, as the starting point of the route, as well as the capital of the Tang dynasty, developed into one of the largest and most cosmopolitan cities of the time. Join us as we start our journey to the past at the Xi'an (present day Chang'an) all the way to Urumqi.

Day 1 SIN – Xian. O/N Hotel
Day 2 Xian. O/N Hotel
Visit Terra Cotta Army, Banpo Neolithic Village, Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day 3 Xian – Lanzhou/Linxia. O/N Train (Soft Berth)
Visit the Xian museums, grand mosque and bazaar
Day 4 Lanzhou - Linxia O/N hotel.
Arrive at Lanzhou then drive to Linxia. In the evening visit to mosque & market.
Day 5 Linxia - Xiahe. O/N Hotel
Visit to the Labrang monastery, Tibetan village nearby.
Day 6 Xiahe – Lanzhou – Jiayuguan. O/N Train (Hard Berth)
Day 7 Jiayuguan – Dunhuang. O/N Hotel
Arrive Jiayuguan, Visit to Fort, Jin Dynasty Tombs. Highway drive to Dunhuang
Day 8 Dunhuang - Turpan. O/N Train (Hard Berth)
Visit to Magao Caves, Sand Hills before train to Turpan
Day 9 Turpan. O/N Hotel
Visit to Tuyuq valley, Ruins of Gaochang ancient city, Bezaklik Buddha caves, Astana graveyard.
Day 10 Turpan - Urumuqi O/N Hotel
AM visit ruins of Jiaohe ancient city , Karez wells, Emin Minaret before dive to Urumqi
Day 11 Urumuqi. O/N Hotel
South Mountain pasture, museum, bazaar.
Day 12 Depart from Urumqi
Terms O/N - overnight.
