15 Days Shangrila - Lhasa Overland (123,91 KB)
A trip to the "THE ROOF OF THE WORLD" is one of those extraordinary destinations where adventure lurks around every corner! Adventure on the road is never short on the beautiful Tran Himalayan drive, through mountain, passes, promising a panorama of a cultural and scenic diversity unsurpassable anywhere. If Tibet is the uncharted area of the world, the eastern part of Tibet, bordering Yunnan Province, is the uncharted area of Tibet. Adorned with virgin forests and crystal blue lakes, this formerly inaccessible route offers spectacular scenery as well as an opportunity to come in contact with rustic village cultures of Yunnan and Tibet. This journey is one of those least traveled routes into Tibet, starting with rich cultural encounters in the non-Tibetan Himalayas, driving through the breathtaking eastern region of Tibet, finally ending the trip with the ultimate Tibetan experience in Lhasa, its holy capital. The long drive on unpaved roads is taxing and challenging, but the reward is equally high and
memorable.
