Its accessibility and beauty have made this the most popular trekking route in recent years. The trail follows through the Markha Valley had been followed by villagers and monks for many centuries. The Kongmaru La (5030 m) is the highest pass on the trek and affords great views, south to Zanskar Range and North to the Ladakh Range. This Trail covers apricot orchards of Kaya, beautiful Markha village on the bank of Markha River, Yak grazing Plains of Nimaling at an altitude of 4700 m dominated by the Kang Yatse (6400m) peak. Also visit Hemis monastery having largest Thangka (Tibetan religious cloth painting) in Ladakh, over 12m long, but only exhibited every 12 years. It is next on display in 2004 & 2018. Hemis monastery head monk administers all the associated monasteries in the Ladakh and Zanskar region.

You’ll cross the highest pass of the trek at Kangmaru-La (5030m).
Day 7  Trek to Hankar (5 hrs) O/N tent (BLD)

Cross the high pass Dundunchan-La at 3950m

Cross the pass Pritintik-La (1900m)

Explore Lamayuru in morning and drive to Leh, with stop in Alchi – 130 km
Day 18  Delhi (B)
Fly to Delhi via Indian Airlines and transfer to hotel (day usage) before flight home

Reservation

A deposit of $ 800 is required upon confirmation and the balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to the departure date. Non-payment by required date may result in the cancellation of your booking and subjected to cancellation charges.


Special Note (For trekkers):
It is recommended that all trekkers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any high altitude trek. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from trekking to a high altitude.
Hypertension, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Severe Anemia, Peptic Ulcers, Epileptic Fits, Obesity (overweight). Chronic Asthma, Muscular Cramps, Hepatitis (Jaundice); or any other disease, which may hamper the trekker.
