Highlights: • Explore the beautiful mountain scenery of Tsaagan Nuur (Great White Lake) • Visit nomadic families and learn about their unique culture and traditional lifestyles • Soak and rejuvenate in hot spring pool and trek around the hills of Central Mongolia Tour Code: AMNG-CMN_08 Itinerary (Subject to changes) Day 1 Ulaanbaatar O/N hotel (Hotel) Arrive Ulaanbaatar (UB), met on arrival at airport/ train station and transfer to hotel. Afternoon, visit Natural History Museum and if time permits, a short city orientation before dinner. Day 2 Ogii Nuur/ Tamir River O/N Camp (Camp) Drive to Ogii Nuur, a fresh water lake and wonderful place to observe migratory birds. After lunch, continue westward to Tseterleg and continue drive to Taihar Rock, a huge stone standing on end. Camp this evening by the north Tamir River Day 3 Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur O/N Camp (Camp) Continue drive through beautiful landscape before arrive at the extinct volcano of Khorgo to explore the caldera and volcanic formations. Hike to the Terkhiin Tsagan Nuur (Great White Lake) with spectacular mountain scenery. Camp by the lakeshore Day 4 Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur O/N Camp (Camp) Continue to explore this beautiful national park. Try horse-riding and visit local nomadic families. Day 5 Tsenkher Hotspring. O/N ger camp (Ger) Morning, leave for hot spring village of Tsenkher. You can take short hikes around the surrounding hills or go for dips in the rejuvenating pools. Day 6 Mt Khugnokhaan. O/N camp (Camp) Begin the day early to head for Kharkhorin, the ancient capitol of the Mongolian Empire. See the restored Erdenzuu Monastery (Hundred Treasures) originally built in 1586 at Kharkhorin with materials from the ruined capitol. Proceed to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes in the afternoon. Next we go Mt Khugnokhaan where we hike around the foothills and explore the remains of an ancient monastery. Camp tonight at the foot of the mountain. Day 7 Khustain Nuruu Nature Reserve-UB. O/N hotel (Hotel) Drive towards UB and stop over to visit Khustain Nuruu Nature Reserve, which was established in 1993 to preserve Mongolia's wild takhi horses. Arrive back in UB in the evening. Farewell dinner. Day 8 Ulaanbaatar Early morning visit to the Bogd Khan Winter Palace. Thereafter, transfer to the airport for departure home. Terms O/N - overnight

Special Note (For trekkers): It is recommended that all trekkers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any high altitude trek. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from trekking to a high altitude.
Hypertension, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Severe Anemia, Peptic Ulcers, Epileptic Fits, Obesity (overweight). Chronic Asthma, Muscular Cramps, Hepatitis (Jaundice); or any other disease, which may hamper the trekker.
