09 Days Pilgrimage to Gandhara Adventure (124,99 KB) The Kingdome of Gandharan lasted from the sixth entry BC to the 11th Century Ad but was at its height from the 1st to the 5th Century Ad under the Buddhist Kushan Kings. This was a time of great international activity, and the Gandharan at the hub of Asia traded with China. Gandhara is Chiefly remembered by its Buddhist art Museums all over the Worlds display the fine stone and stucco sculptures that reflect of prosperous, advance and gentle Buddhist society. The 1st Capital of Gandhara was Pushkalavati the Lotus city, now called Charsadda; the Kushan moved their capital to Peshawar and Hindu Shahi kings to Hund on the Indus.
Taxila is the subcontinent archaeological treasure and was once an important city of the Kingdome of Gandhara, the history of Taxila spans about 1000 years when the Achaemenid Empire observed the kingdom in 516.
Swat from 2nd Century Bc to 9th Century Ad Buddhism flourished in the valley leaving behind a legacy of Gandharan Sculpture and more then 500 monasteries here.
