Day 1 Arrive Tokyo
Meet & greet at airport for transfer to hotel in central part of Tokyo by shared shuttle. After check in hotel, rest of day is free at leisure.

Day 2 Tokyo Full Day Tour
Meet your guide at hotel lobby and proceed visiting of Meiji Jingu Shrine. Meiji Jingu Shrine, established in 1920, is dedicated to the spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. This is the most popular shrine in Japan for Hatsumode, the year’s first visit to a shrine or temple to pray for good fortune in the year ahead.

After Meiji Jingu Shrine, your tour continues to Harajuku, a seat of youth culture where stylish items are readily available. Jam-packed with stores selling assorted goods, accessories, and clothes, Takeshita-dori street is constantly crowded with shoppers. Just a short walk away is the more sophisticated area of Omotesando street. Artistic fashion buildings and galleries line up along the Zelkova tree-lined street, where you can enjoy shopping, gourmet food and art.

After enjoying your visit to Harajuku, proceed to Tokyo Sky Tree, which is known as the highest self-standing tower in the world (634meters). You will be taken to the top observatory (450m above sea level), to enjoy the sweeping view of Tokyo.

After having a lunch break, our next visit is to Asakusa – Tokyo’s Old Downtown, which has preserved the old atmosphere of Tokyo. You will visit Senso-ji Temple, known as the oldest Buddist temple in Tokyo. Also you will have some free time on Nakamise shopping street, where hundreds of shops are lined up, and it is known as a popular shopping spot. After enjoying free time at Nakamise, return back to the hotel.

Day 3 Tokyo Full Day Cultural Experience Tour
Morning, meet your guide at hotel lobby and proceed for “Private Sushi Making & Sushi Party” ~ exclusively for you. Sushi is a staple of the Japanese diet. In this hands-on program you will enjoy learning and making various types of Sushi. The program staff will prepare ingredients which consists not only raw fish, but also meat or vegetable, so if you have special food requirement, you can also enjoy. After making Sushi, you can have Sushi Party with those sushi which you will have just made.

After enjoying Sushi Party, the program will be followed by Kimono wearing & Japanese Tea Ceremony. In the Japanese Style Room, you will be greeted by Kimono Specialist arrange exclusively for you, and then you will learn many facets of formal kimono dressing. Ladies will be dressed for formal occasions in a supple subdued and graceful kimono. You can also choose to wear a brilliant coloured long-sleeved kimono. You will look just like a Maiko – an apprentice geisha in Kyoto. Gentlemen will wear a Kimono and Hakama – loose-legged pleated trousers, and will look just like a samurai while holding a Japanese sword or wooden sword.

After wearing Kimono, Tea Ceremony will start. You will be welcomed by a Tea Master. The Tea masters will teach you how you make it and explain the profound meaning of it, connected to Zen Buddhism. It was founded in the 16th century and surprisingly the original spirits still remain, which will provide you a peaceful mind in the tearoom. Tea Ceremony is regarded as a comprehensive Japanese art including everything,-a hanging scroll, a flower arrangement, tea instruments, and even breeze and sunshine-, the harmony among them is superb. It will be a precious time where you will completely forget about your busy everyday life.

Day 4 Mt Takao Trek (Tokyo)
Morning, meet your guide at hotel lobby for a day trip to Mt. Takao, which is located west of Tokyo and it takes about an hour to get there from Shinjuku. Mt. Takao has several trekking courses, and the majority of visitors use trail number 1, which is broad and mostly paved. It takes about 90 minutes from the base of the mountain to the summit at 599m. The trail number 1 passes many sites such as a monkey park and Yakuoin Temple with Shinto-Buddhist mountain gods. After the trek, you may enjoy the hot spring located near the base of the mountain.

Day 5 Mt Fuji & Lake Kawaguchi
Morning, meet your tour guide at Hotel lobby. On this day, we will be traveling to Yamanashi, known as the home of Mt.Fuji. From hotel, we shall proceed to Shinjuku Station where we will travel to Mt.Fuji 5th Station by long haul bus (2.5hours). Enjoy the panoramic view of Japan Alps Mountain Range from the observatory, we shall have a stroll at Ochudo trail before taking the Retro Bus to Lake Kawaguchi. The first spot is Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center located right in front of Lake Kawaguchi where a stunning view of Mt. Fuji is waiting for you. The next spot is Kubota Itchiku Art Museum (※1) which houses the stunning Kimono Collection done by the Legendary Kimono Designer Itchiku Kubota. After enjoying your tour, drive back to Tokyo by highway bus.

(※1) Kawaguchiko Music Forest will be an alternative spot when Kubota Itchiku Art Museum is closed.

Day 6 Tokyo to Kyoto
Morning, meet by an English Speaking Assistant at the hotel lobby for transfer to Tokyo Station and take the world-famous bullet train (Shinkansen) down to Kyoto (approximately 2.5hours).

On arrival to Kyoto Station, you will be met by a local tour guide who will escort you for the half day city tour. The first spot to visit will be Sanjusangendo temple. The main hall of Sanjusangen-do contains 1,001 wooden statues of Juichimen- Senju- Kannon, “11-faced, thousand -armed Buddhist goddess of mercy”. The principal image, the seated statue of Senju Kannon, sits in the center of the collection. These statues exhibit an extraordinary level of craftsmanship from the Kamakura period, representing the essence of Buddhist art.

After enjoying your visit to Sanjusangedo temple, the guide will take you to Kiyomizu Temple. This temple predates the foundation of Kyoto and has had millions of pilgrims ever since. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 30 structures, including a huge wooden veranda in front of the main hall that juts out over the cliff and provides you a panoramic view of Kyoto. There is a famous expression:”You must jump off the stage of Kiyomizu.” It means that you should take the plunge to make your dreams come true.

After Kiyomizu temple, you will walk down the famous slope called Ninen-zaka & Sannen-zaka, where lots of souvenir shops are lined up along the street. During the walk, you will enjoy the traditional atmosphere of the city traces back to hundreds years ago. After descending the hill, you will reach Gion Area, known as home of Geisha. You can enjoy strolling around the street, and possibly you will meet Geisha, if you are lucky.

Day 7 Kyoto Highlight Tour Full Day
Morning, meet your English Speaking Guide at the hotel lobby, and transfer to Kinkakuji temple. Kinkakuji is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto with top two floors completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408. Kinkakuji is an impressive structure built overlooking a large pond, and is the only building left of Yoshimitsu’s former retirement complex.

After enjoying your visit to Kinkakuji, you will visit Ryoanji Temple. Ryoanji Temple belongs to the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism. Its biggest attraction is the world famous dry landscape garden. It measures about 25 meters from east to west and 10meters from north to south. The garden has an austere collection of 15 rocks in various sizes, arranged in five groups adrift in a rectangular sea of white sand. This rock garden, surrounded by low earthen walls, may be thought of as the quintessence of Zen art, and it is acknowledged to be one of the masterpieces of Japanese culture.

After Ryoanji Temple, you will be taken to Nijo Castle – built in 1603 as the Kyoto residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period (1603-1867). After the Tokugawa Shogunate fell in 1867, Nijo Castle was used as an imperial palace for a while before being donated to the city and opened up to the public as a historic site. Its palace buildings are arguably the best surviving examples of castle palace architecture of Japan’s feudal era, and the castle was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1994. After enjoying your visit to Nijo Castle, you will be escorted back to the hotel.

Day 8 Uji and Fushimi Full Day Tour
Morning, meet your guide at Hotel lobby for tour in Uji area and Fushimi area, in southern Kyoto. In Uji area, you will visit Byodo-in Temple – built for the powerful politician Fujiwara Michinaga. In 1052, late Heian Period it became into a Buddhist temple. The temple is one of greatest Buddhist Pure Land (Jodo) architectures. They have the best Buddhist sculptor in Heian Period, the Fifty-Two Worshiping Bodhisattvas on Clouds, and the door paintings remain in Byodo-in Temple. The Phoenix Hall and phoenix statue are used in the designs of 10-yen coin and 10,000-yen note, respectively. Uji is also famous for matcha, or Japanese green tea, so you can enjoy matcha as a tea or matcha sweets.

In Fushimi Area, in southern Kyoto, we will explore Fushimi-Inari shrine and stroll through the town of sake cellars and tasting sake. The first spot will be Fushimi Inari Shrine – famous for its thousands of vermillion torri gates, straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The trails lead into the wooded forest of the sacred Mount Inari, which stands at 233 meters and belongs to the shrine grounds. Fushimi Inari is the most important of several thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Foxes are thought to be Inari’s messengers, resulting in many fox statues across the shrine grounds.

Fushimi is also famous for Sake Producing. You will visit a Sake Brew Museum to learn about Sake Brewing process followed by Sake tasting. You can try several kind of sake, and get to know the different type of taste. After to visit a Sake Brewery Museum, you will return back to hotel.

Day 9 Mt Hiei Trek (Kyoto)
Morning, meet your guide in hotel lobby for trekking in Mt. Hiei and visit Enryaku-ji Temple. Mt. Hiei is a range of south-to-north chain of mountains lying over Kyoto to Shiga prefectures. Enryaku-ji Temple stands on this sacred mountain, offering spectacular mountain scenery. Enryaku-ji Temple is one of the most important monasteries in Japanese history because it is the headquarters of the Tendai sect of Japanese Buddhism, founded in 788 by Saicho, the monk who introduced Tendai Buddhism from China. There are many reasons to hike Mt. Hiei: the trails, the flowers, the wildlife, etc.

Day 10 Nara
Morning, meet your guide at hotel lobby for an excursion day to Nara.

It takes about 1 hour from Kyoto to Nara by train. First stop is Kofuku- ji Temple, which is walking distance from Nara station. Kofuku-ji Temple is one of the city’s most beautiful and historic temple, founded in 669. It was used to be the family temple of the Fujiwara, the most powerful family clan during much of the Nara and Heian Periods.

The next site is Todai-ji Temple which is located in Nara Park and one of Japan’s most famous and historically important temples in Japan. It was completed in 743. The best-known relic at Todai-ji Temple is its Daibutsu, the Japan’s largest bronze Buddha statue with 15 meters tall.

Mt. Kasuga and Kasuga-Taisha shrine are the next destination. Kasuga-Taisha shrine was founded in 768, served as the tutelary shrine of the Fujiwara family. It has been periodically rebuilt every 20 years for many centuries. In the center of Nara, you will feel peaceful passage of time and enjoy spectacular view of ancient capital Nara.
