Mt. Ramelau, the highest in Timor Leste, summits at 2963 meters above sea level. On a clear sky day both North and South coast can be seen from the summit. On a typical day its peak floats above the clouds providing the most spectacular sunset and sunrises for trekkers. Overnight temperature drops to freezing cold all year round. Trekking to the summit takes about 3 hours from the highland village of Hato Builiko.
Nunurlau & Aimeta, start the track from Mulo Village which will take around 2 hours through a still forest of hanging moss. On emerging into open pasture a final steep climb will brings you to the traditional houses of Nunurlau and Aimeta.
Doko Mali Waterfall, on the Maubessi to Ainaro road the trail ascends through coffee plantation, crossing a creek at a small waterfall and continuing to the massive 30m waterfall.
It is most important to be flexible, stay positive and willing to accept all challenges that arise. In developing countries remote area, please do not compare with the standards you are used to back home. The climb up to Ramelau is quite difficult, with the slippery rocks and landslide. The Guest house is a very simple guest house, electricity will be available from 7pm to 12midnight. Please expect simple dishes at the guesthouse. Simple breakfast such as local bread (paun) and steam tapioca/cassava (occasionally) with tea & Timor Coffee can be expected. As meats consider luxury in this area as it’s not always available, we strongly suggest to bring own can food supply

Itinerary (Subject to changes)
Day 1 Singapore – Dili – Maubessi (D)
Upon arrival at Nicolau Lobato International airport, meet and greet by our representative and transfer to Maubessi The route travel south upwards on the continuous winding road with a stop at Dare to see the memorial war and have a magnificent view of Dili. Drive through the coffee plantation to Becilau before descending to the historical town of Aileu, in the central ranges, where we will stop for a coffee break. Continue the journey to the next main town, Maubessi, through the picturesque countryside. The traditional house, called Umalulik (cone shaped) built with bamboo or mud can be spotted throughout the drive. Day 2 Maubessi – Hatobuiliko (B/L/D) – market day on Wednesday
As we drive up the mountain ranges to Hatobuiliko, the landscape changes dramatically and temperature drops to very cold. Arrive at the Church and start your walk to Pousada Ramelau. After check in and lunch at Alecrim guesthouse, drive to Mulo Village and proceed for easy 2 hours trek to see traditional house of Nunurlau and Aimeta. Overnight Pousada Alecrim.
Day 3 Hatobuiliko : Mt. Ramelau (B/L/D)
Early rise for a short trek to the summit where you could see the Statue of Virgin Mary stand at 2,963m above sea level and marvel at the beautiful sunrise from the top of the mountain with packed breakfast. Return back to Alecrim Guesthouse for rest and lunch. Afternoon, walk to Doko Mali Waterfall, Lepolau. Overnight Pousada Alecrim.
Day 4 Hatobuiliko – Dili (B)
After breakfast at the guesthouse, depart to Dili, lunch enroute (own cost). Upon arrival Dili, proceed for city tour of Dili : POPE JOHN PAUL II monument, sits atop the high ground overlooking the area and commemorates his visit; JESUS STATUE (CRISTORAE) located atop Cape Fatucama at the eastern tip of Dili & St Cruz cemetery. Driving pass the Palacio de Govierno, Casa Europa, Motael Church, the Farol Lighthouse, Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, Presidential Palace. Overnight Hotel in Dili.
Day 5 Dili – Singapore (B)
Morning is free at leisure before transfer to airport for your departure to Singapore.
