Rebuilding the school in 2015

Nepal was hit by a strong earthquake on 25 April, 2015. This earthquake took over 8700 lives, over 17 thousand people injured. About 500 thousand houses were fully destroyed, and 27 thousand houses were partially destroyed. Many cultural assets were collapsed. Also, about 800 thousand children cannot go to school because of this earthquake.

Our Motto

We assist and encourage our travellers to contribute to the rural community development and education development in Nepal and its people. You can do a meaningful contribution to the particular underprivileged society. Participating in an exchange of ideas and viewpoints with the local people can ultimately be a responsible for sustainable development. We are able to plan your programs to suit your intention, time and budget for any duration. Anywhere from 2 weeks to 5 months. We focus a lot on hands-on work, classroom teaching and outdoor interaction.

Our Program

Our program offers unique opportunities for interested individuals, groups, schools and for a contribution to the Nepalese society, at the same time, experiencing the rich culture and difference aspect of urban and rural life in Nepal. No previous experience is needed!

To ensure an enriching experience, our programs include these elements:

  • Classroom teaching and learning
  • Hygiene education
  • Friendly games
  • Community Involvement Programme / Renovation works (Painting and general maintenance such as mending of holes / cleaning / plastering)
  • Field work (as and where possible eg. harvesting in the field)
Our Support

We and our partners in Nepal provide sound advice on the execution of the community service projects according to your interests, capacity, budget and time amongst other factors. Your trip logistics will be fully taken care of. We arrange our staffs and helpers to assist in the project completion and facilitate communications and the program. According to most who have been on projects with us, our staff often turns out as not just a helper, but a teacher, guide, friend and often, a true inspiration to everyone!

What you need to plan

You will have to prepare basic teaching materials for the classroom session. You can also prepare some games which you can share with our Nepalese children. It is important to be mentally prepared concerning the environment what you’re going to do. We will definitely guide you about all the preparations from the start till end of the project.

Location of community service

Our  community service projects are taking place in the areas of  Nuwakot, the old capital of Nepal which is located north of Kathmandu about two hours drive. Nuwakot is the most beautiful hill station spotted with villages of the mixed tribal groups. The locals send their children to schools owned by community which have insufficient teaching materials and facilities.

The land providers in Nepal were amazing. The homestay and the food were so much better than expected. Special thanks to the cook who was very observant and really try his best to cater to our taste buds.

.. The trek was good with some difficulty and love the waddle in the river. The view was breathtaking.

Nepal Service Learning 15-22 Dec 13

Thanks for organizing the trip. My son enjoyed it a lot and we had many experience which a typical Singaporean kid would not have going to Disneyland…

The guide and porter really know what they are doing…

Best Moments:
For me: when I watched the cremation of a Nepali corpse. For my son, the killing and skinning and cooking of a live chicken.
