Flores island -East Nusa Tenggara province Indonesia

Flores island, the exotic place least visited by the foreigner. It is worth to visit the destination. It has strong ethnic touch with typical tribal work of civilization, more people still influenced by the animistic beliefs. The nature settings are so beautiful; there are soaring volcanoes, colored crater lakes, forests, beautiful sea gardens with white sands beaches, and prehistoric Giant animals too. Flores is a big, rugged remarkably beautiful island. Dominated by a string of volcanoes, the long impenetrable terrain has divided the island into many distinct ethnic groups. There are interesting cultures here, with layers of traditional beliefs beneath the prevalent Christianity.

The rainy season ( November to March ) is more intense in western Flores, which receives the brunt of the north – Flores highest peak (2400m Gunung Ranaka), gets an average of 3350mm of rain every year. But Ende, Maumere, have only 1140mm and Larantuka receives 770mm.

Upon arrival in Ende meet and greet with our Tour Guide and drive to Moni (about 4 hrs) with some stops in the towns of Ledadero, Sikka and other places on the way to Moni. This famous cross island road east to west is known among locals as La Transflores. On arrival at Moni check in your Hotel

Begin your day early in the morning at 4 am to experience the sunrise at Kelimutu three colored crater lakes. The Kelimutu is a great volcano, which we access practically by car, until the last 20 minutes, which will be practically a walk in the countryside. When we reach the top, we will be able to see 3 craters, which have become three lakes, of different colors. One black, one yellow and the other a little purple, but the magnificent thing is that they change color, especially at dawn! Wear a coat, because sometimes it is a little cold in what we expect the sunrise. After admiring this natural wonder, we head to Bajawa.

After admiring the nature wonder, return to hotel and explore the villages where we can see how most women make Sarongs with looms, in a totally traditional way.

On the way to Bajawa you will experience the dramatic change in both nature pattern and ethnicity. On the way to Bajawa we will stop at the political capital of Flores, a huge bay opens to the Indian Ocean, the city of Ende, where we will have lunch, visit the market, etc. On the outskirts of Ende, we will stop to see a cove, called the blue stones beach (although are the stones really green?) Where we will see dozens of workers, collecting stones and classifying them, to be later exported, due to the Beauty they represent for gardens in Hong Kong and Singapore.
