This December, X-Trekkers is bringing back "XT Social Walks" for all to enjoy the outdoors together as one big adventure community!
Our walk will start at the main visitor centre of Bukit Timah Hill and make its way through the inner trails of the forest across the Dairy Farm Nature Reserve and eventually ending up at the 164m height summit (where we will take a well-deserved rest), before making our descent via the main trail back to the visitor centre. All the trails are mostly well-paved and anyone with an average level of fitness should be able to complete this walk under 2.5 hours.
"XT Social Walks" is open to people of all ages and cost is free! So don't hesitate, use this opportunity to get some exercise before the Christmas festivities, bring your family and friends along, and at the same time, make some new like-minded pals in the process. For RSVP or enquiries, send us a message or contact Annabelle at 92986840. ... See MoreSee Less
CHADAR FROZEN RIVER TREK, LADAKH: 22 Jan - 3 Feb 2018 A trek for the brave-hearted, the Chadar trek over the frozen Zanskar River is a journey most arduous, but not without beauty, adventure and magic. In the winter, the rivers of the Himalayas freeze. Beneath the ice (or Chadar), the river trickles, flows, gushes, but the surface is hard and people have learnt how to walk on it to travel from place to place. Average mean temperature during the day is minus 10. In the night, temperatures fall to minus 20 and 25. Ice forms, breaks and changes colour on the river every few hours. At places the Chadar does not form over the river. Trekkers then have to forge a new trail climbing over snow covered embankments to descend to a spot on the river where the ice is more stable. With multiple layers and sensible trekking, the Chadar trek is not a very difficult trek. But what sets it apart is its wild and unique experience. Everything about it is wild: the scenery, temperature, atmosphere, the frozen river, sledges, the camp sites, caves and the ever changing Chadar. It is no wonder the Chadar trek has been named the "Wildest Trek in the World". For more information on this trek, click on the link below: www.x-trekkers.com/chadar-trek/... See MoreSee Less

Gunung Tahan (2187 m), is the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia. In the Malay language, ‘gunung’ means ‘mountain’, while ‘tahan’ means ‘endure’. Thus, the name of the mountain suggests that a certain level of physical endurance is required to conquer it. Gunung Tahan is considered by many to be one of the toughest treks in Peninsular Malaysia. Crossing waist-deep rivers, clambering through vertical walls of roots and branches, and outsmarting mosquitoes and leeches are all part of the process. One of the reasons Mount Tahan is known as the Mount of Endurance is that the landscape is not an even slope up, then the same all the way down. For every 100m up, you probably end up walking 30m down, only to climb it again at the next rise. Although the summit is at 2187m, you cover an upward incline much greater than that to reach it. The total trek is around 64 km long and to make it all the way, we strongly encourage adequate trainings before the hike. If you make the necessary preparations and precautions, we can assure you that you'll have one of the greatest adventures in your life and the sunrise and satisfaction at the end of the day is worth it beyond words.
