Reasonable fitness is required for this tour due to uphill terrain and river crossings. Guests are required to carry their own backpacks, therefore it is recommended to travel as light as possible for this tour.

Day 1
Recommended flight from Singapore

Arrive Kuching airport and drive to the small township of Padawan where you will be brought by your guide to hunt for a new pair of hiking shoes (the locally acclaimed legendary rubber shoes). Note : Though not obliged, it is advised that you leave your high tech shoes behind as the mixed terrain (mud, roots, bamboo bridges and slippery rocks) will be endured in the days to come.
Day 2
The day involves a longboat journey through rugged hillsides dotted with rice fields and Pepper gardens to Jambu longhouse. Enjoy a simple lunch in the longhouse before trek deep into the heart of Borneo, accompanied by experienced Iban trackers. The trek takes you into the remote Batang Ai National Park, near the Indonesian border, between 900 and 1600 m above sea level. The area is home to a large population of wild orang utans, there is a good possibility of an encounter with one of these “men of the forest.”
Day 3
Continue trekking and exploring the rainforest, observing at close hand the unique flora and fauna of your surroundings.
Day 4
After a second night in the forest, you retrace your steps back to Longhouse where you meet a boat followed by drive to Kuching.
Day 5
Breakfast at Hotel. Check out at 11am.
Free at leisure till transfer to airport for departure.
Optional of half day tour in the morning if flight departure is in the afternoon / evening.
