From Tibetan plateau at above 3000m to eastern Guizhou at 300m, the huge drop in altitude and its dominant karst landscape have made Guizhou one of the most inaccessible region in China.
Like what high speed rail can bring about lifestyle change to us and our neighbour, Guiyang the capital city of Guizhou was linked by high speed rail from Guangzhou in 2015, and the link will soon extend to Chongqing and Kunming. With the impending change, it is time to visit the authentic people of Guizhou and its traditions before changes bulldoze through the highland.
This Camp Heartware will arrange ‘village stay’ for its visitors and provide first hand experience in understanding livelihood and education of the villagers and their families. Visitors will camp out in the field, prepare their meals together with the villagers, and enjoy games and interactive sessions planned throughout the village stay.
To further apprehend the challenges faced by the people in Guizhou, we will travel to northern Guizhou and witness its natural beauty of waterfall and “Danxia” landform, trace the river crossings of Red Army during Long March, and learn the making of legendary Maotai wine. Of course, visit to Asia highest Huangguoshu waterfall and Tusi Site (Tribal leader site; 48th World Heritage Site in China) in Hailongtun will complete the journey.”
The ten days trip will give a rare glimpse into the land and people of Guizhou amidst a rapidly changing time. Join us in piecing the missing puzzle of China in this special Camp Heartware experience.
