Highlights
- Bandai area is ideal for fun outdoor activities. In autumn you can experience canoeing, cycling and the many hiking trails which go through the heart of Bandai.
- September through October: Canoeing, kayaking, cycling, trekking and hiking, cruises on Lake Hibara and viewing of the changing of the leaves in autumn.
- Special experience staying in a dorm room at an old mountain lodge on the mountain during the early autumn.
Itinerary Autumn I (Early Autumn 18 Sep - 7 Oct)

*Since the accommodation on the first day is a mountain hut, there is a mixed-gender shared room (8 people) in the same area as the dining room and 1 private room (maximum 3 people) . Toilets and shower are shared. The travel agency should inform the customer that they will be staying in such a mountain hut and obtain their approval.
Day 1 Azumagoya
13:00 JR Fukushima Station (meeting place)
14:15 Okenuma and Mt Azumakofuji trekking (1 hour 30 minutes walk. There are slopes.)
16:00 Arrive at Azumagoya Lodge and check-in
18:00 Dinner (set meal style)
21:00 Lights out time
Day 2 Urabandai
After breakfast, proceed to Usagidaira for Mt Azumakofuji view before transfer to Lake Hibara pleasure boat cruising.
Enjoy own lunch at Urabandai Roadside Station and continue to Lake Hibara to enjoy the views of Mt. Bandai. Take a 30min appreciation walk of Oyamazumi Shrine and visit the Hibara Historical Museum before an 1hr walk at Nakasenuma Pond. Enjoy the views of Mt. Bandai over Lake Sohara before check-in at Urabandai Lake Resort Hotel. End the day with a buffet style dinner.
Day 3 Goshikinuma
After Breakfast (buffet style), check out and proceed for Goshikinuma trekking (1 hour walk) and visit Hanitsu Shrine.
11:40 Arrive at JR Inawashiro Station (drop-off location) for your 11:58 train on the Ban-etsu West Line to Koriyama Station (arrive 12:36)
(There is a Shinkansen every 30 minutes in the direction of Tokyo and Sendai.)

Day 1 Urabandai
12:15 Depart from Koriyama Station on the JR Ban-etsu West Line
12:52 Arrive at JR Inawashiro Station. (The meeting place) : Visit Hanitsu Shrine, Lake Hibara pleasure boat cruising, Viewing spot overlooking Lake Hibara and Mt. Bandai
16:30 Check-in at Urabandai Lake Resort Hotel
18:30 Dinner (buffet style)
Day 2 Urabandai
After breakfast, proceed for trekking in Goshikinuma (1 hour walk), Onogawafudotaki Falls (1 hour walk. There are slopes). After own lunch, enjoy trekking in Nakasenuma Pond (1 hour walk) and enjoy views of Mt Bandai over Lake Sohara before return to Urabandai Lake Resort Hotel. End the day with a buffet style dinner.
Day 3 Urabandai
After Breakfast (buffet style), check out and proceed for Ride the Grandeco Resort Urabandai Ropeway
11:40 Arrive at JR Inawashiro Station (drop-off location) for your 11:58 train on the Ban-etsu West Line to Koriyama Station (arrive 12:36)
