Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival Bishkek

Welcome to Kyrgyzstan! Upon arrival at Manas Airport in Bishkek, our team will be there to greet you and transfer you to the hotel, allowing you to unwind after your flight.

Following a refreshing rest, we'll embark on a city tour, starting with a visit to the heart of Bishkek at Ala Too Square. Here, you'll explore the historical monuments before taking a leisurely stroll through Oak Park, a beloved spot among locals. Bishkek's reputation as Central Asia's greenest city is evident in its abundance of parks, adding to its charm.

During your time in Bishkek, you'll have the chance to visit the famous market, Osh bazaar.

In the evening, we'll treat you to a delightful dinner at one of Bishkek's finest restaurants, where you can savor delicious Kyrgyz national dishes.

Meals included: Breakfast (served till 10:00), Lunch and dinner.

Day 2

Your Bishkek – Burana – Iskra - Cholpon Ata (ca. 290 km, 5h)Plan

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll set off towards Burana Tower, situated approximately 80 km from the capital. This ancient minaret is located in the Chuy Valley in the northern part of Kyrgyzstan, near the city of Tokmok. The tower, along with funerary monuments and remnants of a castle and three mausoleums, is all that remains of the ancient Balasagyn town, founded by the Karakhanids in the late ninth century.

For lunch, we'll stop at Iskra village and dine with a Dungan family, where you'll have the opportunity to taste their delicious national dishes and learn about their history.

Continuing our journey, we'll head towards Cholpon Ata, a picturesque resort town on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. We will have some time to visit the Petroglypph Museum before your free time to relax and explore by the lake's shore.

Day 3

Cholpon Ata – Semienov gorge – Karakol (ca. 160 km, 3h)

After breakfast, we'll head towards the Semienov Gorge, which is located 60 kilometers away from Cholpon Ata. This gorge is renowned as one of the most famous attractions in Issyk-Kul, characterized by pine trees and verdant hillsides adorning the mountains. You'll have the opportunity to take a leisurely walk, immerse yourself in the wild nature surrounding you, and relish the serene beauty of this location. We'll arrange for a picnic or lunch at a café along the way.

Following our time in Semienov Gorge, we'll transfer to Karakol, where we'll explore its renowned landmarks such as the Orthodox Church and the Dungan Mosque. You'll spend the night at a comfortable hotel in Karakol.

Day 4

Gorge Karakol [15km, 30 min]

We'll arrange a transfer to Karakol Gorge, where you'll embark on a hike towards a panoramic viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the mountains and the city. It's a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area and capture stunning vistas of the surrounding landscapes.

[Hiking: 7km, +300m, -300m, 4h]

After your hike and exploration in Karakol Gorge, we'll return to Karakol for a delicious lunch. Following lunch, we'll visit the Prjevalski Museum, where you can delve into the history and natural wonders of the region.

To make your evening even more special, we've arranged a boat trip on Issyk-Kul Lake. This leisurely cruise will offer you enchanting views of the majestic snow-capped mountains of the Tien Shan range, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop for your journey. It's a perfect way to unwind and soak in the beauty of Kyrgyzstan's natural landscapes before dinner.

Day 5

Karakol – Jety-Oguz - Barskoon – Tamgar (135 km, 2-3h)

We'll embark on a scenic drive to Jety Oguz Gorge, named "seven bulls" in Kyrgyz due to the presence of seven massive red-brown rocks resembling raging bulls standing side by side. You'll enjoy a leisurely walk amidst stunning landscapes before we continue our journey to Barskoon Gorge, renowned for its picturesque waterfalls. One of the most notable waterfalls here is known as Tears of a Leopard. Additionally, you'll discover a monument dedicated to the first cosmonaut, Yu. A. Gagarin, who cherished this place and often relaxed at the nearby Tamga military sanatorium.

Upon reaching Tamga, you'll have the opportunity to experience a traditional Russian sauna, a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

We'll conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a cozy guesthouse, such as U Pavla Guesthouse or a similar accommodation.

Day 6

Tamga – Skazka – Bokonbaevo – Kyzyl Tuu – Kochkor (Distance 170 km, 3h)

Continuing our journey, we'll visit the Skazka Canyons, also known as the "fairy tale" canyons, where you'll encounter a fascinating array of objects with surprising shapes and sizes. These canyons are like a natural art gallery, where you might spot formations resembling skyscrapers or animals, creating a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere. You'll have the opportunity to take a leisurely walk through the canyons for about 1-2 hours, immersing yourself in this unique landscape.

Next, we'll drive to Bokonbaevo, where you'll have the privilege of meeting an eagle hunter along with his majestic bird. Witness firsthand the alertness and speed of the eagle during hunting, experiencing one of the oldest traditions of Kyrgyz nomads.

After lunch at a guesthouse or café, we'll continue our journey to Kyzyl Tuu village, where a local family will unveil the secrets of yurt production. This family has been practicing this unique art for generations, and you'll gain insight into the craftsmanship and cultural significance of yurts.

We'll conclude the day with dinner at a guesthouse in Kochkor, where you'll have a comfortable overnight stay at Mira Guesthouse or a similar accommodation.

Day 7

Kochkor - Tash Rabat [240km, 4h]

After breakfast, we'll embark on a drive to Naryn, where we'll stop for lunch before continuing our journey towards the Dolon Pass at 3030 meters altitude. This pass leads us to Tash Rabat, an ancient caravan stop from the Silk Road period.

Upon arriving at Tash Rabat, we'll have lunch at the yurt camp. Afterward, you'll have the opportunity to check out the yurts and settle in.

You'll have some free time before dinner to soak in the stunning landscapes surrounding you, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

Dinner will be served at the yurt camp, where you'll spend a cozy night in the traditional yurts, immersing yourself in the nomadic lifestyle.

Accommodation: Yurt Camp.

Day 8

Tash Rabat - Son Kul [260km, 5h]

Today's journey takes us through mountainous roads to reach Son Kul Lake, so we'll be spending a significant amount of time on the road. Our route includes crossing the Moldo Ashuu mountain pass at 3400 meters altitude. As we descend from the pass, you'll notice that Son Kul Lake initially appears small from afar, but as we get closer, its grandeur becomes apparent, showcasing its vast and stunning beauty.

Upon reaching Son Kul Lake, we'll have lunch at the yurt camp. Following lunch, you'll have the chance to explore and settle into the yurt camp.

Before dinner, you'll have free time to soak in the breathtaking landscapes surrounding the lake, offering a serene and picturesque setting.

Dinner will be served at the yurt camp, where you'll spend the night in the traditional yurts, enjoying the tranquility of Son Kul Lake.

Accommodation: Yurt Camp.

Day 9

Son Kul - Biishkek [315km, 5-6h]

After breakfast at Son Kul Lake, we'll begin our journey back to Bishkek by descending from the Kalmak Ashu Pass at 3400 meters altitude. We'll also pass through the scenic Boom Gorge on our way back.

Upon reaching Bishkek, we'll have lunch at a café before taking some time to explore the local market for souvenirs and gifts.

In the evening, a farewell dinner will be arranged for us to celebrate the end of our memorable journey together.

Day 10

Departure
