We’ll start with essential theory at Bygdin Mountain Lodge, then put your newfound knowledge to the test with hands-on exercises and a thrilling overnight expedition. Learn to navigate snowy terrain, make safe route choices, set up camp like a pro, and cook delicious meals on a petrol burner. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

Reaching these incredible destinations requires some effort, but the rewards are well worth it! With a good level of fitness and a determined spirit, you’ll embrace the trails and enjoy the journey. Staying active in your daily life is great preparation for the adventure ahead.
This course is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who are comfortable in nature and enjoy a good physical challenge. You’ll be hauling a pulk (around 20-30 kilos), navigating snowy terrain, and experiencing the raw beauty of the winter mountains. It’s the perfect opportunity to test your limits, learn valuable skills, and discover if ski expeditions are your calling. And hey, with a bit of luck, we might even score some epic bluebird days!

Safety is our priority. These adventures are designed with minimal risk in mind. Incidents are rare, and we have measures in place to handle them effectively.
3. ACCOMMODATION
Embrace the mountain lodge vibes! On the first night, we’ll cozy up at the Bygdin Mountain Lodge, sharing twin rooms with fellow adventurers of the same gender. (Want a solo slumber party? You can book a single room for an extra 500 NOK.)
The next two nights, we’ll embrace the wilderness and snuggle up in tents (two per tent, same gender). If you prefer your own tent kingdom, feel free to bring your own palace!
Itinerary
We may have to modify the indicated itinerary: either at the level of the organization (problem of overload of the accommodations, duplication of the groups, modification of the state of the ground, landslides, degraded trails, etc.), or directly because of the guide (weather, group level, etc.). These modifications are always made in your interest, for your safety and for a better comfort!
DAY 1 WELCOME TO BYGDIN MOUNTAIN LODGE
Join us at Bygdin Mountain Lodge by 6 PM for an unforgettable start to the weekend. We’ll kick things off with a warm introduction, where everyone can share their hopes and expectations for the course ahead. Afterward, indulge in a delightful 3-course dinner that will tantalize your taste buds. If time permits, we’ll dive into some intriguing theory to set the stage for our adventure. Remember, the road into Bygdin closes at 8 PM, so plan to arrive early and soak in the breathtaking surroundings.

DAY 2 THEORY PRACTICE
After a hearty breakfast, we dive into the essential theory with engaging exercises that set the stage for our adventure. Once we’ve packed our pulks, we’ll explore the fascinating mechanics of our petrol burner, ensuring we’re equipped for the wild. Next, we’ll master the art of tent setup, optimizing our space for comfort and efficiency. With our skis strapped on and pulks in tow, we’ll venture into the breathtaking wilderness, guided by the whims of weather and wind as they shape our route. After a brief exploration, we embrace the freedom to put our newfound knowledge into action. We’ll set up camp, establish our routines, boil water for warmth, prepare a delicious dinner, and then cozy up in our sleeping bags, ready to recharge for another exciting day ahead.

DAY 3 EXPEDITION COURSE
As the sun rises, we ignite the primus for a hearty breakfast, fueling our spirits for the day ahead. After savoring our meal, we pack away the tents, ready to embark on another adventure following a night of restful slumber. Throughout the journey, we’ll put our navigation skills to the test, taking breaks to share valuable tips and insights. In the afternoon, we’ll scout for the perfect camping spot, repeating much of yesterday’s routine to solidify our skills and build confidence. This is the essence of ski expeditions—establishing solid routines that guide us through the wilderness.

DAY 4 RETURN TO BYGDIN
As we pack up our tents for the final time, a sense of adventure lingers in the air as we make our way back to Bygdin. Today is all about honing our navigation skills and making thoughtful route choices. Upon our arrival at the Bygdin Mountain Lodge, we’ll enjoy a hearty lunch before diving into the unpacking process. But the day doesn’t end there; we’ll gather for a reflective discussion about our journey together. As the course wraps up in the afternoon, we encourage you to take the knowledge you’ve gained and embark on your own adventures in a safe and familiar environment, or consider joining one of our thrilling ski expeditions.

You’ll be pulling your own pulk (think personal sled of awesomeness), so channel your inner minimalist and pack only the essentials. Trust us, your back will thank you! Leave any extra luggage at the hotel or in your car. And don’t forget to bring the right gear to keep your pulk happy – check the equipment list for all the deets.

GETTING THERE
Ready to hit the road? The easiest way to reach Bygdin Mountain Lodge is by car or bus. Hop on a bus from Oslo (via Beitostølen) – they run frequently throughout the day. If you’re driving, just make sure to arrive before 8:00 PM, as the road to Bygdin closes for the night after that. Time to pack your bags and start your adventure!
In case of unforeseen circumstances
In the event of a last minute delay, please notify your guide by telephone and/or the agency. We will meet you at a specific time at the hotel.
CONFIRMATION NOTICE
You will receive about one week before your departure, a confirmation notice specifying the time and place of the appointment, the name and contact information of the guide and the address of the first accommodation.
Extend your stay
You can extend your trip before or after the trip on request.
